Who Is Millie?
Millie is a purebred fluffy merle French Bulldog who is eligible for AKC registration. Merle describes the distinctive pattern and coloring of her coat. Her long-haired, or “fluffy,” coat is the result of an inherited genetic trait. Fluffy coats and merle coloring are less common among French Bulldogs.
Millie gets along very well with our other two dogs—a Labrador Retriever and an unrelated Frenchie. We have seen no aggression toward other dogs at the dog park or toward our other two dogs. She is usually off leash at the dog park and really is more of a lover than a fighter. Still, it is important to understand that she is capable of defending herself if she feels threatened.
Reason for a New Home
Millie and her cousin, Love, simply do not get along. Love is usually the initial aggressor. She is more of a growly girl and seems to think a growl is the best way to express her opinion. Millie views the growl as a threatening challenge and will fight if she fears for her safety. After trying many different ways to prevent fights and seeing no sustainable end to them, we made the difficult decision to find a new home for Millie.

Meet the Owner
My name is Christine, and I obtained Millie from a breeder in Florida who also bred my short-haired blue Frenchie, Love. We wanted to add a fluffy Frenchie to our home. Our original idea was to potentially breed Millie once with a genetically appropriate match, as I have always wanted to experience the process. If time did not allow, we planned to have her spayed.
Millie is small in stature and cute as a button. She is sweet and kind with everyone. She loves water, long walks, and the dog park. She loves everyone—except her cousin Love. For some reason, these two sweethearts cannot get along, and, to be fair, Love usually starts it. Choosing between them has been very difficult. However, Millie is the younger and more easygoing of the two, so I believe she will adjust well and thrive in a new home.
Adoption Process
- I have adopted rescue Frenchies in the past and have also welcomed French Bulldog puppies into my home. The most important thing to me is that they have wonderful lives. French Bulldogs are a particularly dependent breed and need attention, companionship, and thoughtful care to thrive.
Key Requirements

We prefer a home without another dog. Even though Millie generally does well with other dogs, we want to minimize the risk of jealousy or conflict that could force her to be rehomed again.

The adopter should work from home, be retired, work part time, be able to visit her for an hour midday, or be willing to use doggie daycare. Frenchies do not do well alone for eight hours a day. They have smaller bladders than many other breeds and need companionship—you are their pack.

Millie currently eats Stella & Chewy’s lamb food mixed with I and Love and You Naked Essentials dog food, or homemade food. Frenchies benefit from high-quality food, which can make a meaningful difference in their health and well-being.

The adopter must be able to take her for a walk or to the dog park every day. Frenchies need regular exercise. Millie needs a crate for bedtime and safe chew bones or toys.
Application and Adoption Costs
Although we paid thousands of dollars for Millie, our priority is finding her a loving, permanent home. The donation and partial reimbursement of expenses are intended, in part, to demonstrate the adopter’s financial ability to provide appropriate lifelong care. The total financial commitment, explained below, is $1,400. Interested applicants must:
1. Complete the online application, which will be sent directly to me.
2. If contacted, be willing to meet with Millie and me at your home so we can determine whether you and Millie are a good match.
3. Be able to make a $500 donation directly to French Bulldog Rescue Network, reimburse $400 for partial foster-care expenses incurred while Millie is living in a foster home for both her safety and Love’s, and reimburse $500 of Millie’s spay and final-vaccination veterinary fees. The veterinary invoice and vaccination record will be provided to the adopter.

Special Breeding Circumstances
In a limited and carefully considered circumstance, I am open to discussing a responsible breeding placement. If Millie were placed under this arrangement, she would not be spayed before going to her new home. Any such placement would require a separate written agreement establishing the breeding terms, responsibilities, health and genetic requirements, and placement expectations for any puppies. The standard adoption terms and costs described above would be adjusted accordingly.
I would consider breeding Millie only once or twice, with a strong focus on genetic health and responsible selection of both the breeding match and the puppies’ homes.
